Forbes Announces New Rich List

Forbes magazine has published its latest list of the world’s richest and there’s a new guy just pipping Bill Gates and pushing him out of the number one slot.  None of the top 10 are women.

Here are the top ten richest people in the world:

1. Carlos Slim, Mexico, Telecoms -- $53.5bn

2. Bil Gates, US, Microsoft -- $53bn

3. Warren Buffett, US, Berkshire Hathaway -- $47bn

4. Mukesh Ambani, India, Petrochemicals, Oil & Gas -- $29bn

5. Lakshmi Mittal, India, Steel -- $28.7bn

6. Larry Ellison, US, Oracle -- $28bn

7. Bernauld Arnault, France, LVMH -- $27.5bn

8. Eike Batista, Brazil, Mining, Oil -- $27bn

9. Amancio Ortega, Spain, Zara -- $25bn

10. Karl Albrecht, Germany, Aldi -- $23.5bn
